Waveboard does not collect any data. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs of any kind. Nothing you do in Waveboard is sent to me or to anyone else.
Waveboard contains no networking code at all. It cannot transmit your information, because it has no means of doing so.
Two of Waveboard's components — the Listener and the Pitch detector — turn live sound into control signals for your patches. Waveboard's audio engine opens the audio input when the app starts so those components are ready to use, so iOS will ask your permission to use the microphone the first time you launch it.
That audio is analysed on your device, in the moment, inside the audio engine. It is never recorded to a file, never stored, and never leaves your iPad. If you decline the permission, the Listener and Pitch detector simply receive no sound.
Waveboard can connect to wireless MIDI controllers, which iOS treats as a Bluetooth permission. It is used only to receive MIDI notes and controller messages from hardware you choose to pair. No information is sent out over Bluetooth and no device information is collected.
The patches you build and your app settings are saved on your own device. They stay there. Waveboard also supports iOS File Sharing, so you can copy your patch files to and from a computer yourself if you want to — that transfer is something you initiate, between your own devices, and I have no part in it and no visibility into it.
Waveboard is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
